Drop-dead gorgeous

Omniscience 
                      Hopkins’ 
Trained-internist became

Best friend in med school  
Saturday nights 
                  Howled together 
His white Porsche before we  
Strapped it back return to work  
----Until I deserted for spouse 
Then priestlike 
                        He dedicated 
Self to hottest pursuit saving 
Lives while restoring family 
To past cool Romanov glory. 
Half century later 
                             Alexander 
Morphed into ur-anti-welfare  
White-supremacist right-wing 
Whereas swarthy Ger fulfilled 
Pointy-headed

Expectations as progressive: 
Oy what’ll you do now that 
Sasha’s invited us (my wife 
Not very demurely

Spend rest Kafkaesque summer 
Montana isle where there’s whisper 
Militia ragtime band doom so only G-d  
Knows exact crackpot  
                                   Brooding be/quests  
Perhaps even including massive rifle racks  
Rife with semi-automatic weapons covertly  
Loom behind otherwise apparently clean lines.
